The Egmont Overture, Op. 84, written by Ludwig van Beethoven in 1809-10, occupies a firm and secure place among the stars of the most-dramatic music firmament. Originally conceived for orchestra, this edition proposes it in an arrangement for eight violonccellos by Brazilian Maestro Raïff Dantas Barreto. It comes in a full score and a set of the eight cello parts, all with perfect page turns. It also contains an introduction, in which the arranger explains how he got to achieve this impressive feat!
