Female Composers Vol. II – Lost Traces provides a resonant platform for 15 female composers and 32 compositions – a tribute to artists from various nations and eras whose music remained unheard for a long time. The pieces by Elfrida Andrée, Amy Beach, Clara Faisst, Ethel Barns, Charlotte Sohy, Lili Boulanger, and others paint a picture of creative resistance and artistic networking. These composers fought for equality, used their music to express social change and defied social norms. Their compositions tell stories of cultural upheaval, political activism and an unwavering drive for creation.
