Suite for Violoncello Solo No. 4, BWV 1010 (arr. for cello and piano by A. Piatti)

Besides the first, Carlo Alfredo Piatti added a piano accompaniment only to one other of the six suites for violoncello solo by Johann Sebastian Bach, his choice falling on the 4th in E-flat Major. His arrangement is fresh, sentimental, and never dull. The cello part included in this edition reflects Piatti’s performance choices, which are listed in the detailed Critical Notes.
