Coming from a family of musicians, Oskar Gigele displayed a remarkable talent for complex melodies from an early age. As a soloist with the Vienna Boys’ Choir, he performed on renowned stages, including as the Second Boy in The Magic Flute at the Salzburg Festival in 2006. After graduating from the Wiener Musikgymnasium Neustiftgasse, he began studying composition at the mdw (University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna) in 2014 under Iris ter Schiphorst. Since 2022, he has been pursuing a degree in media composition with a focus on film music with Judit Varga.

He expanded his expertise through masterclasses with Alan Menken (Hollywood in Vienna 2022) and Kalevi Aho (2023), and in 2022 led his own composition course at Piano Day Skopje.

Gigele has received numerous awards, including the Ensemble Ultreia Call for Scores (2019) and a semifinalist placement in the Synchron Stage Vienna Composition Competition (2023). In 2023, he won the competition for mini operetta at the Volksoper Wien, leading to the premiere of his mini operetta in June 2024.

His works have been created in collaboration with renowned artists, such as the intro music for Joesi Prokopetz’s cabaret program Vorletzte Worte (2014). As a founding member of the Independent Music Association, he was interviewed by OE1 (Austrian Broadcasting Corporation), which also broadcast two of his pieces. He has regularly composed orchestral works for the Alma Mahler Philharmonic, most recently the sound logo for the 2024 KlangBildKlang Festival.

In 2023, Gigele composed several tracks for the ORF 3 television series Genussland Österreich, which were featured across multiple episodes. Since 2025, he has also been producing music for video games, including as a member of Ink and Quill Studios.
