About
At the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th centuries, the longing for new, ethereal sounds was particularly strong. In 1761, Benjamin Franklin invented the glass harmonica. In Germany, an aeolodikon had been invented around 1810, in which metal reeds were set vibrating by a bellows operated by the player’s foot. This CD is dedicated to this precursor to the harmonium.
